TRAIN TO GAIN

Train to Gain is one of the best ways to resource training and development within your organisation small or large. Thousands of organisations have already used Train to Gain to draw down funding to develop staff and increase their competitiveness. Employer Engagement sources funding for training in London and surrounding areas with a view to covering all of your training needs.

If you have employees who do not have a level 2 qualification, are eligible to work in the EU, and are 19 or over they will usually come under the Train to Gain eligibility criteria. Very recently the eligibility criteria have been relaxed to include volunteers and self-employed, making Train to Gain a fantastic opportunity to support and motivate your loyal staff, volunteers and if you are self employed an opportunity to gain new skills for yourself.

What if I have people who are under 19?

This is fine. Simplistically Train to Gain is to help develop employees over 25 who have missed out on funding available. For those aged 16-18 there is a wealth of funding and training opportunities we will be happy to explain to you.

What is Train to Gain?

Train to Gain is funding from the government to pay for an NVQ qualification. This can be classroom based but is often delivered at the place of work.

Why use Train to Gain?

Train to Gain is not simply about free training. It is about understanding exactly what your organisation needs to remain competitive and sourcing government funds to pay for part or even all of that required training. The correct training delivered well, can increase productivity, customer retention, and competitiveness. Piecemeal training rarely produces significant returns and there is usually a critical mass needed to ensure organisational improvements take hold. Train to Gain is an opportunity to harness government funding to help deliver that critical mass and create sustained improvements.

What is an NVQ?

NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification and is a recognised standard. The vast majority of government funded training provision will be accredited in this way and covers vocational areas from business admin and IT to equestrian care. NVQ training will be delivered by a mixture of classroom, online and one to one tutoring and assessment. Learners for all NVQs have to collect evidence to prove that they can perform the job they are being trained in. Learners collect evidence of their work and this portfolio forms a major part of the assessment.

What type of training is on offer?

The funding available for Train to gain NVQs is in a variety of occupational areas. The areas that we cover are Customer Service NVQ and Information Technology Qualification (ITQ) NVQ. Along the way if there is a skill gap in your Literacy or Numeracy, we can help you bridge that too, under the Train to Gain contract.
